Free Standing Vitrines
Evan: President Creative Director
The 57th street David Yurman store has been designed with a completely open store front window. This is unlike previous stores in that they were designed with permanent window vitrines. The intent is to allow for more degrees of freedom when designing theatrical windows for the flagship store. However, its still important to have backup vitrines that can be used in between campaigns or during smaller campaigns that do not require as large of a budget. The solution was to design three free standing vitrines that have a look modern, but still have a neutral look fitting the rest of the store.
-
Each stand needs to have a continuous theme inside the vitrine and outside, front and back.
-
Collectively they need to fill the space dynamically
-
They need to have a stone finish or neutral stone quality that is also used through out the store.
-
It needs to have a back access panel
Free Standing Vitrines
After many samples a dynamic geometric pattern was chosen to line the outside and the inside of each vitrine.
Many of the standard window vitrine fixtures used through out all of the David Yurman stores have a faux stone finished. This was a great finish to apply to the outside and the inside of the vitrines to get that neutral stone quality

Holiday is always the biggest retail event for the year. The Yurman's always develop a mythical winter story in which to base their theatrical holiday windows. The theme for this particular year was a winter crystal palace.
Selenite is a mineral that has an ice-like appearance, and has made for a great merchandising prop over the years. The challenge here was design obelisks that could mimic the quality of selenite the mineral, and double as window vitrines.

Summer is the chance to be as playful and as colorful as David Yurman can. Its an opportunity to attract younger crowds with their Solari Collection. The design concept was to emulate the colorful balls used in the collection as much as possible.
